A bundle of branches

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

I dare to hope. He blew me away back in early January this year, and he blew me away tonight.

It’s safe to say, he won’t be able to fix everything that’s wrong with this country. He probably won’t be able to get the Giant Insurance Industry Powers to actually do things in the interest of the sick and not their McMansions and private jets, but there is hope that I might actually NOT get denied health insurance coverage that cost less than $800/month (just for me). He isn’t likely to be able to fix the economy back to where it was pre-GWB or better. Our test scores nationally probably won’t be higher than Japan’s or Taiwan’s any time soon. I’d like to go on with the whole slew of problems this country if facing, but we all know it, in each of our own lives. It affects each and every one of us.

However, the mere fact that he is now the President Elect, is a symbol in itself that, YES WE CAN. One tree branch can be broken in half easily. A bundle of 100 branches together becomes so much stronger and can no longer be broken.

Whether you voted Republican or Democrat or Independent today, we should all come together and fix the problems that our country is facing, that each one of us is facing.
