I know what "emo" is because I have teenagers!! :) It is a statement...how these people in this culture dress, act...they are "emotional", they "emote" all the time. My boys are not emo...they don't particularly like emo which is why it would be listed as a "pet peeve" and if you got the quiz from facebook that explains it's presence in the list! Ah!!
