I also use the leftovers for trash bags, etc, and I take the rest of the used bags back to the store to be recycled. I think they make them into plastic benches and playground equipment. I agree that many of these plastic bags are ending up in landfills and strewn on the side of the road, but since I recycle my used bags, would it still be better for me to get canvas bags?
