NaBloPoMo poster wannabe, and a runny nose solution

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006

If you haven’t noticed the little Yoda picture to the upper right hand side yet, well, there it is! Look! Isn’t he cute? OK, maybe not so cute. Having that picture up on my blog means, I have stupidly courageously signed up to write a post a day for the whole month of November. I’ve even put in a cool calendar right below it for easy navigation to my previous posts. I love the calendar - I wish more people would put it on their blogs - it’s a huge timesaver when browsing through archives.

There are very very few things I have done consecutively for 30 days or more. I hope I can keep up my promise and let’s pray that none of my posts will have to include cleaning the lint in the dryer or about what I did with my eyebrows.

Let the fun begin! *

Okay, no lint cleaning, but here is something that I just recently discovered to be extremely useful, at the expense of our poor darling little Fiona. As winter approaches and flu season upon us, little noses will start running and within days even the puffiest Puffs and the gentlest hands will rub the area below the nose into a rashy space. And your heart will ache more than the rashy spot.

Well ache no more! The solution is literally right under your nose, no pun intended. Most household with (small) children will have a tube or two of diaper rash cream laying around. There are a large varieties around: A+D, Butt Cream (I kid you NOT), Boudreaux, etc., and our favorite Desitin. Apply a small amount with a Q-Tip to the affected area right before bedtime. It is sure to fix it and ready it for another day of Puffs.

Indeed a very obvious solution to heal a rash. What about you? Do you have any tips about childcare that you’d like to share with the Internet?

* Since my blog subtitle is “Daughter. Wife. Mother. Immigrant. Cancer Survivor.“, and there are 30 days in November, I plan to write at least 6 posts for each of the five categories. Which brings me to another issue that needs to be addressed: all of my entries are currently “uncategorized” and needs to be put into their appropriate bins. So many posts, so little time.
