CA residents
Hiya Californians, I have a couple of questions regarding tax return in CA. Trying to help out the parents here.
* Does everyone fill out the “schedule CA” thingy? Why/what is that all about.. Why can’t it be just the 540 alone?
* Do I have to make a photocopy of their 1040 forms and send that along with the state tax return forms? (Some states require that)

Don’t ask me, I have been audited three times and I even had a tax attorney doing my returns! Each time, they owed me more money, but still - major PITA.
California loves to audit - dot your “q’s” even.

Yikes. Sorry I can’t help. We have an accountant take care of things for us…

Not one single solitary clue. Sorry! We always have a tax accountant do our returns, too. Good luck, though.
